HORSES & RIDING
We want your child to have a fun camp experience that you can feel comfortable about as well. With a fun-filled daily itinerary and a dedication to safety, our camp counselors are experienced in teaching children the joy of learning in a safe environment that emphasizes cooperation and respect of each other and the animals alike. Our riding instructors are accomplished riders and equestrians themselves that are excited to share their knowledge!

Daily riding is a favorite part of each camper’s experience. Children receive individual attention aimed at their personal ability level, and participate in group rides where they learn by watching and helping others. During horseback riding, staff to camper ratio is 1:5. To allow for individual attention and instruction, we also have non staff assistance.  Additionally, campers will have the privilege to groom and saddle the horse to allow for more bonding time with their equine friend, with the help of staff. Horse theory is taught daily, with topics such as what horses eat, how to tell if a horse is sick, and how to look after your own horse. The staff at Conestogo River Horseback Adventures will show your child the unique and beautiful relationship between horse and rider. We strive to give children the confidence and self-esteem that comes from riding and handling horses and ponies alike with thoughtfulness and respect.

OTHER ACTIVITIES
Crafts are a much loved part of every day. They change daily and range from friendship bracelets to share with new camp friends, frames for a picture of their favorite horse, stamps, fun foam, leather crafting key chains, etc., the sky is the limit! Supplies are included in the camp fee.
