Helmet Policy
Our new policy for helmets means no more sharing! We will still have helmets available for rent during the week at camp that will be assigned to the camper for the duration of the week to ensure we are doing our part to help stop the spread of covid-19, however, there will be a $15 non-refundable rental fee required for each helmet for the week. Each child will have their name on their helmet and they will be responsible for that helmet. For families interested attending multiple weeks of camp or looking to make a long term investment, we do have new certified helmets available for sale on site for $150.00 taxes included. Or we can suggest some local tack shops. Bike helmets do not qualify. ASTM certified helmets are required. These helmets go down the back of the head, like a skateboard or skiing helmet.

Horses & Riding
We want your child to have a fun camp experience that you can feel comfortable about as well. With a fun-filled daily itinerary and a dedication to safety, our camp counselors are experienced in teaching children the joy of learning in a safe environment that emphasizes cooperation and respect of each other and the animals alike. Our riding instructors are accomplished riders and equestrians themselves and are excited to share their knowledge!
Daily riding is a favorite part of each camper’s experience. Children receive individual attention aimed at their personal ability level, and participate in group rides where they learn by watching and helping others. During horseback riding, staff to camper ratio is 1:5. To allow for individual attention and instruction we also have non staff assistance. In addition to riding once a day, campers groom and saddle the horses to allow for more bonding time with their equine friend. Horse theory is taught daily. Topics such as what horses eat, how to tell if a horse is sick, how to look after your own horse, and movements of the horse. The staff at Conestogo River Horseback Adventures will show your child the unique and beautiful relationship between horse and rider. We strive to give children the confidence and self-esteem that comes from riding and handling horses and ponies alike with thoughtfulness and respect.
Other activities
Crafts are a much loved part of every day.
