It goes without saying that recent school closures and an increase in public awareness regarding the announcement of COVID-19 being declared a global pandemic by the World Health Organization, has led to an increase in the number of inquiries we are receiving here at the farm.
We are currently continuing with our regular programs and activities. Our camps are still open and our trails are still available to book. At this time we are trusting in the information being provided to the general public by the Government of Canada. Their outbreak updates are posted every 8 hours and we are monitoring closely for any changes that are recommended in order to maintain the health and safety of our staff and the families in our community that we serve.
While we realize that for some, this is a controversial decision, for us it is not. We have served our community for over 25 years and have held our doors open for many families not just to allow opportunity for children, but to assist parents, who are in situations where no matter what, the show must go on and they must get to work. We have prided ourselves in offering a solid and consistent support to the families here at CRHBA and we will continue to do so through this situation as long as it remains a responsible choice in light of government recommendations.
There are divided opinions on how this situation should be handled. Here at the farm we are continuing business as usual. We will take extra care in our cleaning as much as possible while also encouraging frequent and thorough hand washing. We are stocked with soap, clean towels and we have access to fresh water. We have small group sizes, we spend our time outdoors in the fresh air, and we have always been fastidious in regards to monitoring childrens hands near face given the farm environment. In this situation we do hope that people do whatever they feel is necessary for themselves to feel safe and maintain their health. Looking forward to seeing you all at the farm be it in the near future or later.
